Can C60 be used to combat viruses?
A new reaction that shows C60 fullerene derivatives which effectively combat viral outbreaks, as well as HIV, herpes simplex virus and cytomegalovirus, has been discovered by a collaboration of scientists from the Skoltech Center for Energy, Science and Technology, the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of RAW and other foreign research centres.
